New Members Only section - members, you will receive your club identification card(s) with membership or renewal for 2014. With the notification letter, you will receive information on accessing the new Member features of the website, such as the private forum for member communications, live chat room, etc. Enjoy!

The IBCC will begin requiring membership dues in 2014. These dues will be important for the club to put towards the fees of pursuing APA acceptance into the SOP, for funding the cost of the club promotional materials and promotion for the breed, as well as to fund upcoming events, newsletters, advertisement, website expenses, and other events. We hope to be able to support our Juniors as well as we gain in size, with the potential for scholarship funding in the future. Dues go a long way to helping the club achieve it's goal of supporting the Iowa Blue breed to its maximal potential!
Membership dues begin 2014 and more information can be found HERE.
The following committees have been formed with participation welcomed. If you have an interest in participating on one or more of these committees, please contact the club with your name and a little bit about why you wish to join the committee. Members only, please.

This year we will begin an IBCC newsletter, with information about current happenings with the breed and its members. We are always looking for stories to highlight and love for members to submit stories, photos, news, and information to the Newsletter Committee.
Members Only Section:
The webmaster is hard at work developing a member's only section for our membership. This section will hold our historical archive of information on the breed as well as a modern information archive of recent articles and information. IBCC club business will be listed in this section along with IBCC meeting minutes for all members to review.
Members will have access to the forum and the chat room to communicate with other members as well as a membership list including contact information for members to connect.
More content to come!
Congratulations to Lexi Allen who was the proud winner of a Silver Iowa Blue cockerel in our IBCC raffle held at the EIPA show in Iowa City. Thank you to everyone who donated birds, eggs, and other items. The raffle was very well received and a lot of fun!
Lexi hopes to find a girl to pair with her new little man and we look forward to seeing all the raffle winners back at future shows with their new Iowa Blues!
Congratulations to all!
The EIPA show in Iowa City was a wonderful time for us all. The IBCC held a membership meeting and have begun to lay out plans for the upcoming year. We have begun collecting members for various committees, and always welcome more to join!
Kari McKay-Widdel's Silver Cockerel was awarded best of breed for the show and the IBCC displayed a wonderful table complete with a popular raffle. We welcome some new Iowa Blue fanciers and congratulate everyone who won some lovely silver Iowa Blues in the raffle, as well as hatching eggs and other prizes.
Thanks to everyone who made it!

IBCC member Curt Burroughs had a recent pair of very welcome visitors. Pictured above is Constance Bolson, wife of Ransome Bolson, with her son, Loryl Bolson. Ransome carries a prominant position in our history being one of the original breeders of Iowa Blues.
Iowa Blue history shows Ransome's flock to be the last known flock of Iowa Blues that was still fertile in 1989. Ransome possessed at that time a flock of about 50 birds with only 20 that were of a productive age. Kent Whealy was given eggs from Ransome's flock for hatching and thus, a remnant of the flock was preserved as seed for the Iowa Blues we have today.
Constance, pictured here at a lovely 89 years young, is seated holding an Iowa Blue pullet while visiting Curt's flock along with her son, Loryl. It's lovely to put faces to the names in the breed's history. Thanks to Constance and Loryl for the lovely visit!
Voting is now open for election of our club officers for the bienniel 2014-2015 term.
For those offices with only one accepted nomination, a write in box has been provided for entry of any member of the IBCC you wish to vote to each office. (If elected on write in votes, the member may elect to accept the office or decline.)
